Nestled in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley, Thevenet Montessori School offers traditional Montessori teaching to both educate and excite children about the process of learning.
In 1985, Thevenet Montessori School was granted Absolute Charter by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York.
Thevenet Montessori School is a member of IMC (International Montessori Council).
In 2005, we redesigned and rebuilt the playground for the school. Our theme for this reconstruction was a “Village for Children.” We currently have eight buildings across the campus, a wonderful start on a wonderful project. The buildings include a schoolhouse (complete with bell), peace chapel, barn, post office, deli and four small houses. These buildings are the perfect size for our students and are outfitted with “furnishings” that make a beautiful environment. Over time, we plan to add more structures to the village, perhaps a firehouse or a gristmill. The backdrop of the Village is the beautiful open lands of our property.
